Survivor Series 2008 custom cover

Photobucket

This was maybe my 3rd WWE custom cover for WCF, at the time I thought the concept was great, but it didn't turn out so great now. It has some cool old school traits to it.

WIP: The Bash 2009 custom

Photobucket

As I said I would show off my Bash custom cover here first.

SO anyway just started on this late last night, one day before the PPV, unless I work real hard on it tonight, and I don't think I will, it just wont get done until some time next week, I'd like to say well before the weekend, but who knows. Check back for many more previews for this cover.

WIP: Summerslam 1989 Custom

Photobucket

Sorry for the lack of posting, but had alot going on. Anyway as if no one knew it, this cover will take a while to finish. One reason being I'm cutting everything that will go on the cover, unlike some or most others that have psd's that already been cut.

So in this update I've got Savage/Zeus/Sherri added, but where their at on the cover doesn't mean thats where they will be at.

WIP: Summerslam 1989 Custom

Not alot changed other then I got the sun part looking much better, and a friend recut the Summerslam logo CLICK HERE to get that full logo, many thanks to Omen for the cut.

WIP: Summerslam 1989 Custom

Here is my latest project Summerslam 1989..Custom.

This will be my first of many classic covers I do custom's of turning them in to modern looking graphic covers, rather then in the past just being a convert, or custom being just to keep it looking original. In the past the closest I have came to doing custom classic covers are my WM9 and RR90 covers, both still had major intent to look basic and a little original, the RR90 cover was still meant to look like a 1990 cover, rather then this Summerslam 1989 cover that I hope looks like something from 2009.

Delaying one to start another...

Instead f starting my Bash 2009 cover like I had planned instead I'll be starting on a Summerslam 1989 custom cover.

Full Cover: Wrestling's Living Legend Bruno Sammartino

Photobucket

This video has to be a rare one, I've never seen the video at a rental store in my life, and I use to rent at a few places in the 90s that had almost every single wrestling video made, never seen this one though, nor do I ever find it on Ebay for sale. I think this is where I found this full at, but it had to be the only time I ever seen it, as it is I've had the full for a few years now.

Not in HQ, but better then nothing. I once owned this video, wish I still had it.

Full Cover: WCW Superbrawl 4 custom

Photobucket

This was a cover I made well before my WCF days, and before I knew much about cover making, but its still way better then my older covers. This IMO could be a good looking cover is the right font, and the front was cut well. but instead the font is terrible, and the front is just a poster that doesn't match in colors (see the white).

I changed up my idea for this a little, I was looking up some ideas on King of the Ring covers, and I seen Ben's KOTR 2008 cover and I thought that leather book background would look good, and make it look more official like, so I'm now playing around with that. Found the good background on DeviantART and it wasn't too hard to find.

WWF WWF King of the Ring 1993

My latest American convert DVD done, WWF King of the Ring 1993, I had got this video case about a month or so ago and as soon as I got it I started on this project, but the project was sort of put on hold over the past month.

So with nothing to do today I put a good 3-5+ hours into finishing it.

For more info on the cover, and to get the full then check out the WCF where its posted.

Event Info: via Wikipedia

King of the Ring (1993) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF). The event resulted from the WWF's decision to make its annual King of the Ring tournament into a televised event. It took place on June 13, 1993 at the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio. The card featured ten matches, which resulted from scripted storylines and had results predetermined by the WWF.

The central focus of this PPV event was the tournament itself. Wrestlers gained entry in to the tournament by participating in qualifying matches on WWF television programs, and the second, third and fourth rounds of the tournament were televised on the King of the Ring PPV broadcast. Bret Hart won the tournament by defeating Razor Ramon, Mr. Perfect, and Bam Bam Bigelow. He was attacked by Jerry Lawler during a coronation ceremony, which led to a feud that lasted more than two years. In addition to the tournament, the event featured Yokozuna defeating Hulk Hogan for the WWF Championship as well as Shawn Michaels retaining his belt in match against Crush for the WWF Intercontinental Championship.

Reviews of the event have been mainly positive. Several reviewers have called Bret Hart's matches the highlight of the PPV. The match for the Intercontinental Championship has received positive reviews, but the ending to the WWF Championship match, which featured Hulk Hogan in his final PPV appearance in the WWF until 2002, has been criticized. The event was attended by 6,500 fans — the lowest attendance of any King of the Ring event. The PPV buyrate, however, was the highest of any King of the Ring event until 1999. The event has been released on VHS in North America and on VHS and DVD in the United Kingdom.

Old WIP: Wrestlemania 13

Photobucket

This is what I almost went with for my Wrestlemania 13 custom cover, it was more like the official poster for the event, but this is how the cover ended up looking Click Here

And also the front wasn't finished, nor was the back even close to being done.

So which is better? Wrestlemania 15 VHS covers

Here are 2 covers, one is sort of rare, the other is not. One is the official WWF Wrestlemania 15 VHS cover of the PPV, the other is the WWF Wrestlemania 15 highlight video cover. IMO the highlight video has a way better front.

Highlight video:

PPV video:

Hmm...Maybe this someday could make for a nice custom cover??

Gem: NWA Great American Bash 1987

Photobucket

IMO one of if not the best fronts for a wrestling cover, with its drawings on the front, with the cage, but the back is about as stale as they come, though for 1987 it still offered as much on the back as any WWF video did.

Its a shame more wrestling covers aren't made like this. Least the front anyway.

Rare cover? WCW Starrcade 1998 VHS

Photobucket

Found this cover on Ebay early this year, its not an American cover of course, I think its from Australia? Least that's where the person was shipping from.

WWF WWE Wrestlemania 13 custom cover

Photobucket

Kind of a forgotten cover I made not to long ago, its one I do think turned out very good, and has a good official look to it when you compare it to the original.

You can find the full cover at the WCF

Full Cover: Survivor Series 1989 VHS

Photobucket

Here's a tough one to find WWF Survivor Series 1989 the VHS cover, I happened to have it, found it off ebay long ago, though I own the cover and have a HQ scan of it, this is not HQ, but better then anything else.

WIP: Royal Rumble 1990

Photobucket

Got quite alot done tonight on the front, to a while to find good pics of all 28 other wrestlers on the front, I think the idea I started with is turning out to look pretty good. Still a ways to go with the back, and the front isn't even finished, mainly I need to get a better font, and get the right Coliseum Video font ect..

New Project: Royal Rumble 1990 custom

Shown off here first, is my next project WWF Royal Rumble 1990. I had seen a cover of a movie, and an idea popped in my head. Its something of a cover I always wanted to do, that being a Rumble cover showing everyone or almost everyone in it on the front/back but in a good flashy looking way. I hope this was will work. Now as it shows there is Warrior/Hogan on the front, they come from the WM6 cover, I thought it would be a nice touch to use them on the front.

The cover is super early, like one hour of work type early, not everything is lined up and what not, but it shows a general idea of where the front is going.

Also coming with this cover, will be a WWF 1990 template which will be released on WCF.

Full Cover: Royal Rumble 1990 VHS

Photobucket

A cover VERY hard to come by or find online. I happened to scan this when I owned the video, I have no idea where the HQ scan went, but I sold the video years ago so, this is all I got. Better then nothing

Event Info: via Wikipedia
Royal Rumble (1990) was the third annual Royal Rumble professional wrestling pay-per-view event produced by the World Wrestling Federation. It took place on January 21, 1990 at the Orlando Arena in Orlando, Florida.

The main event was the 1990 Royal Rumble match won by WWF Champion Hulk Hogan. Hogan last eliminated Mr. Perfect to win the match. Featured matches on the undercard were Jim Duggan versus The Big Boss Man, Ronnie Garvin versus Greg Valentine in an "I Quit" match and The Bushwhackers (Butch and Luke) versus The Fabulous Rougeaus (Jacques and Raymond).

Early work: Royal Rumble 1991

Photobucket

This is one of my most early custom covers, made some time around 2005 - early 2006, well before I knew anything about what it takes to make a cover. This was nothing more then a simple cut and paste type cover, with some cheesy effects, but I was really happy with it back then.

As for the cover and everything, I used some template I found on the net, it was crap then, and still is, someone would be nice to make a custom looking like this, just way more flashy and HQ. The idea with the cover is it was meant to look like the Royal Rumble 1990 cover. lol and a better template, like one of my own. lol

Start to finish: Backlash 2009

Here I'm going to show from the early stages to the finished product of my WWE Backlash 2009 custom cover.

This wasn't the 1st part of the cover of course, I started with my template, but this is the 1st preview, and where I started.

Photobucket

In preview 2 the only part I added was the gray part on the back, now I'm no wizard at photoshop quite yet, but first off the whole red part is suppose to look something like a closeup of the WWE stage used for the event, and the gray part is the round part of the stage, which was a prop.

Photobucket

Then I added the match card/listing

Photobucket

After that to make it look a little more flashy, or at least to mix it up from looking too red I added a text to it..

Photobucket

Once I made it look more "flashy" I added a few pics, with some borders. Of course there's Edge PSD on the front, there was no intention to put anyone on the front besides Orton, he's just there because he was to be used on the back.

Photobucket

After that I add some PSD's to the back above the pics just to fill in some empty spaces. Plus I put a little effects on the pics to make them flow more with the cover.

Photobucket

And here it is the finished product I added a few more PSD's, and touched up everything a little. Its not my best cover, nor is it my worst, but here is my Backlash 2009 custom cover finished.

Photobucket

WIP cover #2

Photobucket

Here we have Cyber Sunday 2008, I don't know for sure if I ever showed this or not, but it was a early WIP cover that I ended up not even going with, maybe I should of because I still think it looked better then what I had when I finished.

Just for show: Royal Rumble 1990

Photobucket

This is one of my early VHS covers I turned into a DVD cover, but it's still a cover you wont find almost anywhere in dvd form, even if it looks a little second rate. In the near future I hope to do up a cover for it.

Looking back vol.1 My first WCF cover preview

The cover here below is the first cover I previewed, or showed off, when I first joined the WCF though since then the site has moved on to its new forum, which is where the link goes to.

So anyway the cover:

Photobucket

A custom cover of Wrestlemania 3, it was finished later on, and will be posted here in the near future, but also it is a cover that I made well before I had any photoshop skills, in fact the cover was made using paintshop 8, a program I used to make all my covers before joining the WCF.

The cover its self is based on the Wrestlemania 6,7 & 8 back style of showing stock photo pics of the wrestlers.

It turned out to be one the covers of mine most people like, I've never really heard anything bad about it.

Unreleased custom cover #4 Wrestlemania 12

Photobucket

Here is a cover I never released, nor previewed. It is WWF Wrestlemania 12, a little of it is based on the official cover, and the magazine ad.

Event Info: via Wikipedia

Coming soon...

By this time next week on about June 16th, I will be showing off an early preview of my WWE "the Bash" custom cover, unlike where I post all of my covers, I will be showing off the cover in a more detailed progress here, then I would there, where as in WCF I might only show off the preview once it gets looking good, or just when its has a front made, I don't really care to show off many in my progress to finishing my cover, but I do always keep many previews.

Future Project: Wrestlemania 1

Maybe not my very next project, but one I'll be working on soon is Wrestlemania 1. Not only will I be making a very high res one of the official VHS, in other words a convert, but also I hope to do a custom one, which no one has done that I know of.

Here is the front I'll be working with (original one is much larger), and props to my friend Crumble at PSDprotolcol & WCF for making the 2 images better.

Photobucket

And here is the back part, its not as clean as the front, but still its alot better then what I started with.

Photobucket

WIP cover #1

Another first of a series of covers that I will show is my WIP (work in progress) covers.

This is a early convert of WWF King of the Ring 1993, as you can see I have a ways to go, I've been working on this a few weeks now, but I've been side tracked by alot of stuff, and mean while trying to finish the Extreme Rules cover.

Unreleased-unfinished custom cover #2

Photobucket

This is a custom of Royal Rumble 1989, it like the topic says is unfinished and has never been seen by anyone, its part of my Royal Rumble project.
